Definitely in a lot of pain today. I was woken up twice during the night for various testing, and blood draws. I thought that it wouldn't hurt as much now, but as the days go by the pain gets worse. The worst is the pain from to open drains on the outside of my body, not on the inside. I'm told that it gets better. Lets hope so. A lot of pain, let me just tell you.
The nurses have all been nice to me, but there is 1 in particular who works in the evenings that really blows me away. She is extremely nice, very pretty, and very kind. More people have seen me naked in the last few days than people have seen in my entire life. She's one of the few people that I didn't mind that saw me naked. She always make me feel comfortable and always makes me laugh. I really hope to see her again tonight, if I'm still here.
I've been switched to oral pain medication. If I can just tell you, I do have a lot of pain, and I really miss the pump of medicine that I had the first day out of surgery. The medicine in the pump was ten times stronger than morphine. It made me sleepy, and kind of made me feel queasy, but at least I didn't feel any of the pain associated with surgery.
All in all I'm looking forward to seeing the doctor today, and having him determine if it's time that I go home. Do I think I'm ready to go home? I don't know. I'm in so much pain, I really hope I'll be able to handle it. If I didn't have these damn drains, my pain would be very minimal. It's these damned drains that really hurt. Not everyone gets drains. It just depends on how big you are.
Signing off for now. More to come later :-)
